Mega Swim Challenge – Coming to a Pool Near You!

The Mega Swim Challenge is a free, all-ages swimming event where your entire town works together to take on one shared goal: outswim Nibbles the Shark as he makes his way across the Great Australian Bight!

Whether you're smashing out laps or just cruising the shallow end, every swim counts.

Sign up at your local pool – it’s open to all ages and completely free. Once registered, your pool manager can log your laps after each session, or you can track them yourself using the keepthescore app.

Each lap you swim is added to your town’s total. You’re not just swimming for yourself – you’re helping your whole community rise up the ranks.

Nibbles swims 6 km per day from November to March. To beat him, your town will need to collectively swim more than 1,000 km. It’s a massive effort, but with everyone involved, it’s absolutely possible!

Follow your town’s progress and see how you stack up against others across WA with our live leaderboard, displayed on our website and on the big screen at your pool. Every lap updates your score – and every swim gets your town closer to the top.

There are individual prizes for top performers at each pool, plus bonus giveaways for effort, team spirit, and lap milestones. But the real glory? Being crowned the winning town for 2025.
